Housing Information

Students participating in Viking Launch will select their housing preferences through Housing and should follow the Housing Timeline. Questions about housing should be directed to Housing@wwu.edu.

Cost Breakdown

The $1200 cost per student for Viking Launch is broke down as follows:

  • PROGRAM FEE: The Viking Launch $600 program fee covers all program activity costs, workshops, the extra week of housing, and all meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) beginning with dinner on Sunday, 9/14 and ending with dinner on Saturday, 9/20.  (You will be on your own for breakfast and lunch on Sunday, 9/21, and your regular meal plan will start on Sunday evening.)
  • TUITION: The Viking Launch Tuition charge $600 covers 2 credits of tuition and will be added to your WWU student account in August.
  • COURSE FEE: Some Viking Launch courses have a course fee that covers labs, materials, field trips, etc. and range from $0 - $60, depending on the course.  This fee will be added to your fall quarter bill.  Please visit the Viking Launch website and the course fee will be listed under the course description for the course fees for the course you signed up for.

**Students interested in being considered for a Viking Launch scholarship should visit the Viking Launch website for application information.  Scholarship awardees will receive a Discount Code to be used below during the Pre-Reservation process.

Photo Permission Release

I give permission to Western Washington University to use photographic images and video footage of myself in its public information activities without compensation to me.

This would include use in University publications, slide shows, video, electronic and Internet media and the University's website. At the discretion of Western's Office of University Communications, use could also include making the photographs and video footage available to non-University organizations, such as newspapers, magazines, television stations, blogs, media-sharing web sites and other providers of media content, in order to illustrate articles about the University or promote University activities.

This permission is granted for an indefinite time period. I hereby acknowledge that I have read and understand the terms of this release.

The $1200 cost per student for Viking Launch is broke down as follows:

  • Pay the $600 Program Fee to your reserve your space now.
    Options:
    1.  Pay the full $600 now
    2.  Pay $300 now and Pay the balance of $300 on your WWU student account in September.
  • Pay the $600.00 tuition charge on your WWU student account when tuition is due in September.  For students relying on Financial Aid or anticipating a Scholarship these will be applied to your student account.

I understand that, by registering, I am incurring a legal debt to Western Washington University and will not be released from that debt unless I follow required schedule change procedures. In addition, it is my responsibility to obtain University policy information regarding registration and payment deadlines and if appropriate policies and procedures for financial aid.

*Should I decide to withdraw from this course, I must request a refund in writing to VikingLaunch@wwu.edu by June 30, 2025.
